Though a number of jewelry industry responsible sourcing programs exist, there's never been an industry-wide consensus on what constitutes a vision ALL stakeholders can support. Through organized participatory Summits and active year-round work by dedicated volunteers, this not-for-profit, charitable organization strives to encourage and facilitate meaningful, solution driven activities that continue to advance sustainability and responsible sourcing in the jewelry industry.
Summit Mission Statement
Our community of individuals from all sectors in the jewelry industry seeks, at the summit, to develop shared visions for key stages of the jewelry industry supply-chain that support the broader industry vision for sustainable business and responsible sourcing.
Our goal is to create awareness of the challenges to overcome and to enable the community to develop strategies, initiatives and tools to address these challenges and to create a future for the jewelry industry that is sustainable.
Who are the Summit Organizers?
Summits and year-round Forum work are currently overseen by an Executive Committee and three sub-committees: Finance, Marketing and Events.
The first ever Jewelry Industry Summit was planned in 2015 by a group of dedicated volunteers from various segments of the jewelry industry. In March 2016, the first ever Jewelry Industry Summit took place at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. A second Summit took place on January 29 and 30, 2017 in Tucson AZ hosted by the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA). LEARN MORE ABOUT THE COMMITTEES.
This effort is largely volunteer based with funding for the Summits coming from generous sponsorships and individual donations. LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT THIS OPEN FORUM and SUMMIT.
